What to Expect

The webinar on OTN and the emergence of the P-OTP discusses how transport networks worldwide are steadily evolving from a pure SONET/SDH-centric infrastructure to one that better supports packet traffic.

This webinar will:

• Outline the motivation behind the transport network’s evolution to adopt OTN and describe the architectures of new network elements required, including the Packet Optical Transport Platform (P-OTP);
• Explore relevant standards that apply to these architectures;
• Discuss specific requirements and design elements for the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to consider when evaluating technology to implement these architectures;
• Conclude with an introduction to PMC’s family of OTN products, a chip set of highly integrated components designed to address critical requirements in the next generation Packet Optical Transport Network (P-OTN)

About the Presenter

Mark Orthodoxou is a Senior Product Manager in the Communications Product Division at PMC-Sierra and has responsibility for OTN and optical transport solutions and strategy. Prior to joining PMC-Sierra, Mr. Orthodoxou held a number of progressively responsible positions within both the semiconductor and network equipment manufacturer industries. He has held various positions in Product Management and Engineering at Integrated Device Technology, Solidum Systems, and Nortel.
