From its origins in 1995, the Universal Serial Bus (USB) has gained widespread adoption for connecting peripherals to PCs. More recently, given its ease of use, expandability, high bandwidth and low cost, USB has emerged as a data transfer solution for embedded consumer electronic and mobile devices like digital cameras and PDAs. Consequently, product developers are increasingly being called upon to design and implement a wide range of USB I/O devices.

Thabang Mashologu is responsible for e-marketing at PMC-Sierra. Previously, Mr. Mashologu has held high-speed hardware design positions at Nortel Networks and JDS Uniphase.
Mr. Mashologu holds undergraduate degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering (with Distinction) from Simon Fraser University (Burnaby) and Carleton University (Ottawa), respectively.
